[...] (Coby Karl has signed in Spain, though, so he will not be returning.)

- Coby Karl - As was expected, Karl was waived by the Nuggets this week so that his contract did not become guaranteed. Having played for both Denver and Cleveland last season, he is a candidate to return to the NBA next season. After all, he's about the same as Andy Rautins, and Rautins got a three year contract.

Coby Karl
Karl is currently under contract to the Nuggets, signing along with Butch down the end of the 2009/10 season. Given what just happened with Butch, the risk of such a strategy is now more apparent. The now 27 year old Karl never played for the Nuggets, but he did played seven games earlier in the season between the Cavaliers and the Warriors, putting up a PER of 5.1. Like most teams, Denver could use the extra shooter, and for as long as his dad is the coach, Karl will always have the advantage.

- Coby Karl
Coby Karl went to camp with the Cavaliers, and made the team when it was determined that they needed some guard insurance in the wake of Delonte West's whoopsy. He stayed on the roster until the guarantee date, yet played only 5 minutes in that time. After being waived, Karl went to the D-League for three weeks before being signed to a ten day contract with the Golden State Warriors. In 5 games there he averaged 7.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists, shooting only 2-11 from three point range. The Warriors didn't bring him back for a second 10 dayer - instead signing Reggie Williams later in the year - and Karl returned to the D-League and the Idaho Stampede. In 21 D-League games this year, Karl is averaging 38.0 minutes, 18.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game.
Coby Karl looks exactly like his dad. And speaking of; get well soon, George Karl.
