The man Sumpter replaces in Vichy is Brent Petway, the athletic Michigan alum who has spent time around the NBA in summer leagues, training camps, the D-League and the like. He's taking the strange step of moving down a level, going to French second division side Clermont for next season. Not many decent players play in the ProB, but another one who will be is Marcus Campbell, the ex-Mississippi State big man and training camp veteran who has spent almost all of his career in the American minor leagues, and who has had NBA training camp contracts from the Rockets and Bobcats.

- Marcus Campbell
D-League veteran Campbell has gone back there, rejoining his last team, the Anaheim Arsenal, who are now known as the Springfield Armor. (Arse to Arm.) The Armor aren't good this year, sporting only a 3-14 record, and part of the reason for that is their lack of size. It's not Campbell's fault, as he averages 9.6 points and 6.8 rebounds in only 20 minutes of 10 games. But their other main centre option is former Tennessee big man Major Wingate, who manages to turn it over three times a game in only 28 minutes. Not easy to do when you're not a big man scorer.

Marcus Campbell has never played an NBA game, but he's had training camp stints with the Rockets, Bobcats and Thunder. He is a D-League veteran, with 145 D-League games played in 4 previous season, and career averages of 10.3 points and 7.0 rebounds.
Basden joins the Austin Toros, Reiner joins the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, and Campbell goes to the Springfield Armor. On their respective debuts, Basden put up 6 points and 6 rebounds on 2-9 shooting, while Campbell put up 8 points and 6 rebounds on 0-6 shooting to give the Armor their first win of the year. It came against Reiner's Mad Ants, and Reiner's 8 points, 3 rebounds and 5 fouls in 15 minutes didn't seem to help.
