- Mark Pope
Mark Pope always said he would enroll in medical school once his playing career. And in 2006, he did, when he enrolled at the University of Columbia. But then this summer, after three years of Ivy League-standard medical school training, Pope bailed on his studies and was hired as an athletics co-ordinator at the University of Georgia, seemingly the beginning of a college coaching career. Medical school just wasn't as fun for him as basketball is.
