Logically, it will be Jeremy Richardson who steps into the void vacated by Claver. Richardson has struggled with injuries of his own thus far this season, and was out of favour early, an oft-rumoured candidate for being released. However, he has played much better since returning from injury than he did before suffering it, has won the team back over, and is now being leaned upon to provide the shooting on the wings that no one else really offers. Pietrus is also on hand for an expanded role, providing the athleticism and defense lost with Claver, if not the offensive game.

[...] The signing of Q, the re-signing of Redick, and the increased small forward opportunities for Rashard Lewis, have already marginalised the role of Midnight Pietrus - so named because he couldn't be any blacker; his slightly less black brother, Florent, is therefore known as 11.58pm - and if Midnight doesn't have much of a role, then Robinson definitely doesn't.

Florent Pietrus - The Bobcats were said to be chasing Pietrus hard last season, but didn't sign him. They seem to really, really, really like defensive small forwards who can't score - hence the signing of Stephen Graham instead, and Dominic McGuire last month - and Pietrus is definitely that. Florent Pietrus is everything Mickael is without the three point jumpshot, and probably the better defender. But on offense, there's problems.

- Florent Pietrus
Mickael's brother is spending his second season with Valencia as the defensive role player on a team of scorers. He averages 2.9 points and 3.1 rebounds in 18 minutes per game in the Eurocup, alongside 3.4 points and 3.0 rebounds in 17 minutes per game in the ACB. The Bobcats were said to be interested in him last summer, which makes sense, because Larry Brown would love this guy. He's like George Lynch was. And Larry Brown loved George Lynch.
Imagine if Mickael Pietrus didn't have a jumpshot. That's Florent Pietrus.
