Patrick Ewing Jr - After missing 18 months due to injury, Ewing began his comeback with the Knicks, and would have won a roster spot were it not for Shawne Williams's rather amazing career resurgence. After being cut, Ewing went to the D-League, where he has had the best season of his career with the Reno Bighorns. He is averaging 17.3 points, 8.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.1 blocks per game, an effective and dynamic player on both ends of the court. He's even shooting slightly better, pouring in a three a game at 34%. Ewing was always more about potential than production, even when he was drafted, but now there's a lot of production there. A call-up would be highly justified.

Patrick Ewing, Jr.
Ewing was covered in the Magic summer league roster round-up of last week. He played well for Orlando, averaging 11.3 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. It is inevitable that he would appear on the Knicks roster too.

Patrick Ewing Jr.
Ewing gets to join the team that employs his dad, which always seemed inevitable. It might not last long, however. Now 26 and coming off a season he completely missed due to injury, Ewing is going to try to make the team as the athletic small forward rebounder/defender who moves the ball but doesn't have a jumpshot. He's doing this on the team that just stole Stanley Robinson with the 59th pick. It's pretty much the worse place he could have picked. Ewing will also go to summer league with the Knicks in Vegas, where he has more of a chance, but this isn't [wasn't] the best place for him.
Regardless of how well he played.

- Patrick Ewing Jr
Patrick Ewing Jr has not played in a game since last March due to injury. Last year he averaged 16.3 points, 8.9 rebounds, 1.3 blocks and 1.4 steals per game for the Reno Bighorns, but was waived with an MCL "sprain" that also kept him out of playing in the Knicks' summer league campaign. One year on, and that injury is keeping him out of action. I'm guessing it was a tear instead of a sprain.
