His impact now is mostly on the bench and in the locker room, as the on-court game has slowed down quite a lot. Terry’s threes still go in, and his true shooting percentage this season was a career high at .600%. However, his usage rate - which used to be as high as 25.5% - was down to 9.8% this year. The shooting ability is only of value if it is used. Terry moves the ball well, and was steady, yet his speed and ability to get shots has gone. His career will be sustained by his likeability; this year, it probably already was.

Player Plan: Expiring minimum salary contract. Not shown a reason on the court to bring him back for another one, but it depends on how much he is revered, perhaps.

Meanwhile, the source of the Nets' streak is not immediately obvious. The four different wins have featured four different starters, as injuries to Deron Williams and Kevin Garnett are forcing them to be in and out of the lineup on a nightly basis. There is little consistent about the rotation - Reggie Evans can either start and play 30 minutes or record a DNP-CD, Jason Terry's usage is similarly unpredictable (and his play significantly ineffective), and the duo of Andray Blatche and Alan Anderson do not provide much consistency even with their more consistent minutes. Both can be game changers, but both can not turn up at all - whichever it is, both will probably shoot on every touch anyway.

The final year of Jason Terry's contract is only partially guaranteed. Only $5 million of $10,658,000 is guaranteed; the rest becomes guaranteed dependent on how many minutes Terry plays. Terry's contract will become guaranteed if he plays in more than 60 games and more than 1,500 minutes next year; if he doesn't, and he's waived before next July 15th, then whoever owns him could get a break of a few million dollars.

I'm telling you this because Boobwar is making Terry available.
