Phoenix - Dionte Christmas: Unable to get many minutes on the upstart and healthy Suns team, Christmas has nonetheless earned his way back into the NBA, and is better than Archie Goodwin at this point. If Christmas is waived, it is to protect their other investment.

Dionte Christmas
After (and because of) his summer league performance last year, Christmas signed a contract with the Celtics that had a 50% guarantee in year one. Nevertheless, he was waived anyway. He then signed with the powerhouse CSKA Moscow, struggled somewhat (though did shoot 56% from three in Euroleague play), left partway through the season and joined fellow Italian powerhouse Montepaschi Siena for the final two months. Christmas played nine games with Siena and had chronological scoring outputs of 2, 7, 5, 30 (in 27 minutes on 13 shots), 2, 0, 0, 0 and 0. Make of that what you will.

- Dionte Christmas
Christmas went undrafted this summer and later signed with the Sixers for training camp. Yet despite the Sixers' obvious need for a shooter, they decided they'd rather save the money and run with a 13 man roster than they would pay the rookie minimum to Dionte Christmas. That must have stung. What will have stung more was Christmas getting arrested the very next day while driving Marreese Speights' car, which contained an unloaded gun, also registered to Speights. Not a good day's fishing.
After a few weeks on the shelf - in which time he was rumoured to be moving to Germany, although he then didn't - Christmas signed with Hapoel Holon in Israel at the start of this month. He's played in one game for the team, totalling 12 points and 5 assists, shooting 3-10 from the field and 1-7 from outside.
